working internet!!

you saw it! I have working internet at home! I haven't been this excited in I don't know how long! it has been months since I have had real, working internet at home!

 

I took a bit of a break from blogging last week since I had the entire week off of work. it was nice to not be on a computer since that is all that I do at work all day long. 

 

we went & saw unbroken yesterday & I have to say it was pretty darn good! I wasn't sure what to expect because the cast were those that I had not heard of but Angelina did a heck of a job directing that movie! what an inspirational movie!!

weekending....

I had a long weekend... I took Monday off of work & I have Wednesday off as well because I had to use days or we lose them where I work. We have all next week off of work for the holidays which is really nice.

 

I was at the studio on Friday night & I had a friend passing through on the way to Florida with her horse so I met her late Friday night real quick to settle her horse in over night.

 

Saturday was an engagement session for a girl I grew up with! I have the photos here for you as well. Saturday night the guys played downtown so we had a good night out. It was nice to all be back together like family.

 

Sunday my friend Aaron had his piano Christmas concerts, however I don't have those photos done yet.... working quickly! We also finally got our Christmas tree up in our house. That has been a bit of a struggle so I am happy to have it up finally. I will try to get some pictures of it tonight.

 

I spent yesterday running around, riding horses & editing photos!! Crazy this time of year!

we had a nice quiet Christmas. my mom & I went to take care of the horses in the morning & then went to a friends house for brunch so we actually didn't do Christmas dinner until today.

christmas eve!

 okay. so let's be honest. I need to apologize for being the worst blogger ever! 

I have been nonexistent since last week! 

so here is my weekend/few days extra recap!

as last week came to a close, thursday was my last day of work until january and starting thursday night began my 4 days of not sleeping. friday rolled around & queue the migraine, however I had to go to the dance studio that night no questions asked... saturday came with no sleep once again & one of the worst migraines I have had in a long time... bring in them medicine & dark room all day. finally started to feel better later that night & finally got some sleep. 

sunday came around & it happened to be the day of aaron's piano concert. I must say it was one of the best days I have had in a while with some of the best people, which also included running into someone I hadn't seen since high school! so I have a few photos from sunday until I get them on my computer...

yesterday was awesome! my best friend made a surprise appearance from florida. only her mom & I knew she was coming so we had a little hot chocolate & cookie party last night! hot chocolate in kentucky means hot chocolate & bourbon & it was great! 

oh & I picked up this great sweater from target for Christmas day!

finding happiness around the holidays...

gosh, I don't really know where to start with this but I feel the need to write about it to see if it makes me feel better.

 

for once I seemed to be excited about Christmas & then it really hit me yesterday that, no I really am not.

 

back in 2007, I was a sophomore in college and on December 20, I got a horrible phone call at about 6pm that evening that my dad had died in north carolina & that they would call me when they knew any more. this phone call came from some friends of his. I mean who honestly calls someone, tells them that & then hangs up the phone... thank goodness I wasn't driving but I was alone, house sitting for some friends about 45 minutes away from home. I frantically started calling my mom who didn't answer & then started calling her boyfriend & back and forth until someone answered. my mom ended up driving out to where I was to come spend the night with me so I wasn't alone.

granted, my dad & I were not close at all, nor had we spoken since I was 16. we had the visitation after the holidays in January that year & I didn't cry once about it or really seem upset. weird I know but then again we weren't close & he didn't really want to be part of my life.

 

once again, here I sit, hating Christmas for no reason really. trying to search for some happiness today so that I am not so miserable. Christmas is one of my favorite holidays & I really would like to find that again.

1. Christmas cards.... something I really need to get done soon...like maybe today!

 

2. Christmas tree... yes it finally got put up last night. it only took a week of convincing my mom that it needed to happen soon.

 

 

3. crafting... I also got some crafts done last night. things I have been meaning to do for a while. I am hoping I can get more done this weekend.

4. mom got some new reindeer antlers to put on the dogs so we had a bit of fun with that last night!

 

 

5. happy to have a weekend with not much going on...kinda nice for a change.
